Integrated Basin Modeling

چکیده
IWMI's mission is to contribute to food security and poverty eradication by fostering sustainable increases in the productivity of water through better management of irrigation and other water uses in river basins. In serving this mission, IWMI concentrates on the integration of policies, technologies and management systems to achieve workable solutions to real problems—practical, relevant results in the field of irrigation and water resources. The publications in this series cover a wide range of subjects—from computer modeling to experience with water user associations—and vary in content from directly applicable research to more basic studies, on which applied work ultimately depends. Some research reports are narrowly focused, analytical, and detailed empirical studies; others are wide-ranging and synthetic overviews of generic problems. Although most of the reports are published by IWMI staff and their collaborators, we welcome contributions from others. Each report is reviewed internally by IWMI's own staff and Fellows, and by external reviewers. The reports are published and distributed both in hard copy and electronically (http://www.iwmi.org) and where possible all data and analyses will be available as separate downloadable files. Reports may be copied freely and cited with due acknowledgment. Sri Lanka and Turkey provided program support for IWMI-related activities in these countries.

Impact of structural geology on integrated water resources modeling improvement; a case study of Garesoo river basin, in Doab-Merek station, Kermanshah, Iran
Garesoo river basin in Doab-Merek, as studying area of this research, located in northwest of Kermanshah province in west part of Iran. There is long-term hydro climatologic data in this basin about rainfall, temperature, etc. (more than 50 years) and main river data (about 35 years). Due to intense fall down groundwater level and seasonal river drying, in the past 10 years .It was necessary th...
متن کاملIntegrated Planning of Water Resources Based on Sustainability Indices, a Case Study: Hamoon- Jazmorian Basin
Nowadays, the water supply and water demand management are the main issues in water resources planning. It is more important in a river basin with a complex system facing with droughts, climate changes, inter-basin water transfer and operational and under study dams. In this paper, for water resources planning in a river basin and reducing the difference between water resources and water demand...
متن کاملIntegrated Artificial Neural Network Modeling and GIS for Identification of Important Factor on Groundwater Hydrochemistry (Fe-,Ca2+ and PO4-3)
Background & Aims of the Study: Groundwater resources are a crucial component of the ecosystem. Management and cleanup of contamination from groundwater resources requires a long term strategy and a huge amount of investments. Artificial neural networks (ANN) and Geographic Information System (GIS) can be useful in determining management strategies. To protect these valuable resourc...
متن کاملA Blueprint for an Integrated Watershed Hydrogeomorphic Modeling System
The hydrology of a river basin interacts with its geomorphic form. Despite significant advances in hydrological modeling, the dynamic interactions between geomorphic, hydrologic and ecological processes are not adequately captured at the basin scale. There is a need for advanced modeling tools that address both runoff and erosion prediction in sufficient spatial and temporal detail for explorin...
متن کاملWater Resources Management in the South of Kerman Province Using the System Dynamics Model
Integrated water resources management is recognized as one of the main needs of any society due to population growth and technological advancement. To implement integrated water resources management, modeling of this system is essential. On the other hand, water resources systems are highly complex and affected by various factors that are very difficult to identify and determine their role in w...
متن کاملIntegrated economic–hydrologic water modeling at the basin scale: the Maipo river basin
Increasing competition for water across sectors increases the importance of the river basin as the appropriate unit of analysis to address the challenges facing water resources management; and modeling at this scale can provide essential information for policymakers in their resource allocation decisions. This paper introduces an integrated economic–hydrologic modeling framework that accounts f...
